Amida
Amida, at 18 feet tall, is seated on a lotus flower inside the Byodo-In Temple’s Ho-o-do (Phoenix Hall) and the largest Buddha carved in over 900 years. Amida is covered in cloth and gold lacquer (orange glow is the dimly lit atmosphere of the Phoenix room and no flash used in reverence).
